Lagoon Cruise

Enjoy a 4-6 hour cruise in the outer lagoon. Stop for swimming and snorkeling on coral reefs and have close up encounters wit the colorful marine life. Last stop is Teabanuea islet, where you can witness the effects of sea erosion and current changes in the lagoon. Light refreshments and drinking coconuts are included. Extra beer, soft drinks and water are also for sale. Snorkeling equipment is available for hire.

Rate: $150 per 4 people, $20 per extra person.

Pickup: Behind Kiribati Parliament building or at Bairiki Wharf (behind Mary's Motel).

Time: 9am to 3pm (depending on tides)


Sailing Kiribati-style

A 2 hour sailing lesson on a traditional three-person canoe. Includes life jacket, emergency standby boat, and a drinking coconut (moimoto) to finish the day with.

Rate: $63 single, $100 for two people.

Location: Lesson is held in the lagoon opposite the Kiribati Parliament in Ambo.


North Tarawa Day Tour

Take a boat to explore the villages of North Tarawa, where you can see the traditional lifestyle, visit cultural shrines and observe a traditional canoe under construction. Finish the day swimming and snorkelling in clean and clear waters. The trip includes a light lunch and refreshments.
